Moroccan international Ashraf Dari, currently a defender for Al Ahly, is reportedly on the verge of a return to Europe during the ongoing winter transfer window.
Al Ahly has already taken steps to clear the way for his departure, removing Dari from the club’s official roster and registering new signing Youssef Belamri in his place.
Sources suggest that Dari’s exit has become inevitable after coach Yes Torop reportedly lost confidence in his performances, leaving the defender’s departure a matter of time.
In a bid to facilitate the move, Al Ahly has offered to cover half of Dari’s salary until the end of the season, amid interest from an undisclosed European club.
Negotiations are said to be ongoing over the structure of the transfer, with discussions centered on whether the deal will be a conditional loan or a permanent move.
The identity of the interested European side has not yet been revealed.
Al Ahly’s decision to let Dari go is also tied to the need to free up a squad slot to accommodate Belamri, which has prompted the club to expedite negotiations and show flexibility in the transfer process.
Dari joined Al Ahly at the start of last season from French side Stade Brestois, and his contract with the Egyptian giants runs until June 2028.
