Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, paid a home visit to former national team coach Hassan Shehata to check on his health after days of concern and rumours about his condition.
Shehata recently left hospital and is continuing his recovery at home following stomach surgery.
Sobhi wished the legendary coach a speedy and complete recovery, stressing his appreciation for Shehata’s historic achievements with Egyptian football. The minister underlined that national sports figures enjoy continuous respect and attention for the way they have lifted Egypt’s name in Africa and on the global stage.
For his part, Shehata expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture, valuing the minister’s personal follow-up and support during a difficult period. The visit came after false reports had circulated on social media claiming Shehata had passed away, rumours his family firmly denied in recent hours.
Tthe former Pharaohs boss suffered a health setback not long ago and underwent gastric surgery. His current recovery at home, along with official reassurance from the minister’s visit, has helped to calm fears among fans who still hold him dear for his great successes with Egypt.
