Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi stressed that his team will not look for excuses after traveling to Rabat for the high-stake semi-final clash against Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a high-stake clash on Wednesday, the Atlas Lions will lock horns with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah, with victory crucial to securing qualification to the finals of the tournament.
At the pre-match conference, Iwobi, who has been outstanding at the tournament stressed his outfit will not look for excuses despite traveling for the semifinal clash.
“We respect all our opponents and we have prepared well for the Morocco match. If any player is absent from our team, there are others who can replace him.”
“We shouldn’t look for excuses, and whatever our physical condition, we must give everything, so traveling to another city is not an excuse to let it affect us physically.”
“Complaining before the tournament? I use my social media accounts to express my opinions. We need to focus on football and we do that when we enter the field.”
The winner of the match is scheduled to face the winner of the game between Egypt and Senegal at the tournament.
