Senegal coach Pape Thiaw says his outfit will do everything possible to secure qualification to the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

In high-stake clash on Friday, January 9, 2026, the Taranga Lions will lock horns with the Eagles of Mali at the Tangier Stadium. It promises to be a thrilling encounter, as both teams will be yearning for victory to secure a place in the semifinals of the continental showpiece.

However, Pape Thiaw, has stressed his outfit determination to triumph over Mali to secure a place in the semifinals of the tournament.

“For me, it’s just a football match. We can’t talk about a war between Mali and Senegal. We’ll stay within the realm of sport. My father is Senegalese and my mother is from Mali.”
