Ghana duo Jordan Ayew and Fatawu Issahaku score stunning goals as Leicester beat West Brom 2-1
Ghanaian pair Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku were both on the scoresheet on Monday night as Leicester City secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Brom in the English Championship.
Playing at the King Power Stadium, Leicester made a strong start to the contest and took the lead after 18 minutes. Ayew showed sharp awareness and determination to finish off a cut-back pass from Jordan James, giving the Foxes an early advantage.
West Brom responded before the break and drew level in the 34th minute, with Karlan Grant producing a composed finish to restore parity and ensure the teams went into halftime on even terms.
After the restart, both sides pushed in search of a decisive goal, with the tempo remaining high as Leicester and West Brom battled for maximum points. The breakthrough eventually arrived deep into injury time when Abdul Fatawu Issahaku produced a moment of brilliance, converting after being set up by Stephy Mavididi to seal the victory for the hosts.
Ayew, 34, continued his contribution to Leicester’s campaign, recording one goal and one assist in 2026 so far.
Fatawu, who has been in impressive form for the Foxes, netted his first goal of 2026, taking his tally to five goals in the 2025/26 Championship season.
