Kahraba Ismailia refused to leave Alexandria empty-handed, fighting back to earn a 2–2 draw away to Smouha in Group C of the Egypt Capital Cup on Tuesday night.

The result keeps the group finely balanced, with Zamalek watching closely ahead of their next outing.

The visitors struck first through Eritrean forward Ali Suleiman, who opened the scoring in the 20th minute to stun the hosts. Smouha reacted quickly, though, and Khaled El-Ghadour levelled matters just nine minutes later to send the sides in at the break on equal terms.

Early in the second half, Samir Fekry turned the score around in Smouha’s favour with a goal in the 47th minute. But Kahraba Ismailia showed real character, as Abdel Fattah Sheta made it 2–2 on 57 minutes to silence the home crowd again.

The drama continued deep into stoppage time when Kahraba’s Mohamed Medhat was sent off in the 90+6 minute, leaving his side to cling on with ten men.

Smouha, coached by Ahmed Abdelaziz, move to 5 points in second place behind leaders Al Masry on 7, while Zamalek drop to third with 4 points ahead of facing Al Ittihad. Kahraba Ismailia sit fourth on 3 points under coach Reda Shehata.
