Zambia midfielder Wilson Chisala has made a U-turn after openly describing Morocco as an overrated team before the showdown at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Before their final group clash on Monday, the 23-year-old openly described the Atlas Lions as an overrated team, insisting that Zambia had nothing to fear and was ready to challenge them.
After succumbing to a humiliating 3-0 defeat, the midfielder has changed his tune, rating the Atlas Lions among the best African team at the moment.
“I said that Morocco is an overrated team before facing them? Morocco is the better side and plays good football, and is one of the best African teams.”
Morocco secured promotion comfortably, while Zambia, which had a disappointing tournament, exited the tournament after placing fourth with two points from two draws against Mali and Comoros.
No third team will qualify from this group, as Comoros have already been eliminated with the same points tally. Mali qualified in second place with 3 points, repeating what Egypt did in the previous edition.
