Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been ruled out of their final group match against Côte d’Ivoire at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury setback.
The 36-year-old attacker is currently experiencing discomfort in his left thigh, making him unavailable for the blockbuster clash slated for Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
The Panthers will have to battle for maximum points against the defending champions in Group F, despite qualification to the knockout stage seems to be impossible.
Aubameyang made substitute appearances in their opening match against Cameroon, where they succumbed to a narrow defeat, before playing full throttle in their shocking 3-2 defeat against Mozambique.
Despite the defeat to Mozambique, the Marseille managed to find the back of the next for the Panthers in the high-stake.
Due to the setback, the former Chelsea and Barcelona star has been released back to his club, Olympique Marseille for further assessment.
After two matches, Gabon sit bottom of Group F without any point, while Côte d’Ivoire occupies top spot with six points.
