Ademola Lookman produced a decisive all-round display and earned the Man of the Match award in Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Tunisia at AFCON 2025.
Operating as one of the front two in Nigeria’s 4-3-1-2, Lookman was at the heart of the Super Eagles’ best attacking moves. He constantly drifted into pockets between the lines, combined sharply with his strike partner and the advancing fullbacks, and pressed aggressively from the front.
On the ball, Lookman made his quality count with a composed finish to get on the scoresheet and several efforts that tested the Tunisian goalkeeper. Over the 90 minutes, he registered multiple shots on target, created chances with incisive passes into the box and drew fouls in dangerous areas as Tunisia increasingly struggled to contain him.
Beyond the numbers, his movement and work rate repeatedly stretched Tunisia’s 4-1-3-2 shape, opening lanes for Nigerian runners from midfield.
Lookman also contributed defensively by tracking back into the channels and helping Nigeria see out a tight second half, a complete performance that fully justified his Man of the Match recognition in Fès.
Nigeria will play Uganda in their next game on December 30th.
