Brighton are being linked with a move for Göztepe defensive midfielder Anthony Dennis, with the Nigerian youngster attracting Premier League attention after a rapid rise in Türkiye.
Reports in Turkey suggest the 21-year-old is on the radar of the Sussex club as they assess midfield options, although the probability of any deal remains unclear and is currently listed as “?” on transfer data feeds. Dennis is under contract at Göztepe but no expiry date is publicly available, raising the possibility that his situation could change in future windows, including the prospect of eventually becoming a free agent if no new agreement is reached.
Dennis, valued at €5.00m according to the latest Transfermarkt assessment on 1 October 2025, has seen his estimated market price climb sharply over the last two seasons. Having been rated at just €25,000 in late 2023, his valuation has steadily increased through €1m and €2m before reaching its current level while playing in the Süper Lig.
Born in Kaduna on 21 June 2004, the right-footed midfielder moved from HB Academy Abuja to Göztepe’s under-19 side in January 2023, stepping up to the first team later that year. He has remained with the İzmir club since, operating primarily as a holding midfielder in front of the defence.
Dennis stands at 1.79m and wears the number 30 shirt for Göztepe. His progression through the Turkish system, from youth level to the top flight, has coincided with Göztepe’s return to prominence domestically, with his performances in defensive midfield drawing increasing statistical and scouting interest.
While no fee has been agreed and there is no indication of advanced talks, a move to Brighton would represent a significant jump from the Süper Lig to the Premier League. If a transfer does materialise, it could mark a pivotal step in Dennis’s development and raise his profile both in English football and back in Nigeria.
