Everton are being linked with a move for Real Betis defender Nobel Mendy, with the Premier League side reportedly tracking the 21-year-old centre-back as a potential reinforcement.

The Senegal and Guinea-Bissau dual national is currently on the books at Real Betis, while also on loan at Rayo Vallecano, and speculation has emerged of interest from Goodison Park. The probability of any deal taking place is currently listed as unclear (“?”), underlining that talks, if any, are at a very early stage and no agreement has been reached.

Mendy’s market value has risen sharply over the last two years and is now estimated at €6.00m, according to the latest data in December 2025. That figure, together with his age and left-footed profile at centre-back, is thought to make him an attractive option for clubs seeking long-term defensive depth without paying elite-level fees.

The defender joined Rayo Vallecano on loan from Betis in August 2025, with the arrangement scheduled to end with a return to the Seville club. There is no confirmed long-term contract information in the data, leaving open the possibility that Mendy’s situation could evolve further, including the potential to move on or even approach free-agent status depending on future negotiations.

Born in Guédiawaye on 3 September 2004 and standing at 1.87m, Mendy progressed through the French system with FC Mantois 78’s youth sides before moving to Paris FC’s U19s, then Paris FC B and the senior Paris FC team. A switch to Spain followed with Betis Deportivo, before promotion to Real Betis and the subsequent loan to Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga.

With experience in both French and Spanish football and a rapidly rising valuation, a move to Everton – if it materialises – could mark the next significant step in Mendy’s development and define how his potential is perceived across Europe in the coming seasons.
