University of Pretoria bring in Leandro de Sousa after Pretoria Callies spell

South African striker Leandro de Sousa has joined University of Pretoria from Pretoria Callies, adding the forward to the club’s squad on 21 August 2026.

De Sousa, who plays in attack, arrives at University of Pretoria after spending the previous part of his career with Pretoria Callies. He joined Pretoria Callies from FN Rangers on 1 January 2024, before making the move to his new club at the start of the 2026-27 season.

The striker’s latest recorded appearance came in the Nedbank Cup, where he played 44 minutes and scored once in a single outing. That is his recorded competitive contribution immediately before the switch to University of Pretoria.

De Sousa now continues his career with University of Pretoria FC, also listed as U. Pretoria, following his spell with Pretoria Callies. The move was completed on 21 August 2026.
