Youssef El Kachati is being linked with a return to SC Telstar, with reports in the Netherlands suggesting the NEC Nijmegen striker could be on the move despite only recently joining the Eredivisie side.
Transfermarkt lists the 26-year-old centre-forward as a rumoured target for Telstar, with the move framed as a switch from NEC back to the IJmuiden club he left for Nijmegen. The probability of a deal is currently marked only as “?”, underlining that discussions, if any, remain at a speculative stage rather than an advanced negotiation.
El Kachati, valued at €700,000 in the latest market value update on 2 December 2025, has seen his stock fluctuate sharply in recent seasons. His valuation rose from €75,000 at Telstar in January 2024 to €800,000 by June 2025, before dipping slightly after his move to NEC. Any prospective agreement with Telstar would therefore have to reckon with a figure significantly higher than when he last played for the club.
Born in Leiden on 9 November 1999, El Kachati holds both Moroccan and Dutch nationality and operates primarily as a centre-forward, preferring his right foot. His career path has taken him through Sparta Rotterdam’s youth structure (U19 and U21), VV Noordwijk, Jong Westel in Belgium, Quick Boys and then Telstar, where his performances in the Dutch system prompted NEC to bring him in from the Eerste Divisie side.
The forward’s transfer history also shows periods without a club, underlining that a failure to secure a move at the right moment can leave his future open and, potentially, lead to free-agent status if contractual situations are not resolved.
If a return to Telstar does materialise, it could offer El Kachati the platform to reassert his upward trajectory in Dutch football and shape the next phase of a career that has already featured several rebuilds and resurgences.
