Luis Diaz praises Mohamed Salah and recalls unforgettable support

Colombian winger Luis Diaz, now at Bayern Munich and formerly of Liverpool, has expressed strong support for his ex-teammate Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian goes through a tense spell with Liverpool and coach Arne Slot after starting three straight games on the bench.

Salah’s criticism of being left out of the starting lineup recently led to him being omitted from the Inter Milan match in the Champions League, adding to the controversy.

Díaz revealed how deeply Salah impacted him from the first days at Anfield. He told BBC Sport that Salah was among the first to welcome him, recalling the Egyptian coming over and saying, “If you need any help, I am here for you.” Diaz also remembered Salah encouraging him on the pitch, telling him, “Let’s try this… let’s try this move until it works,” moments that stayed with him.

The Colombian spoke emotionally about celebrating the Premier League title alongside Salah, saying he was amazed by how happy and fulfilled his teammate looked.

He described Salah as someone who constantly pushes himself to be a better player and a better person, leaving a lasting mark on those around him, before Diaz chose to leave Liverpool last summer for Bayern, where he has shone this season.
