Al Ahly’s football management has set Tuesday as the team’s travel date to Morocco for their crucial CAF Champions League fixture against FAR Rabat, taking place on November 28 as part of the group stage’s second round.

Meanwhile, the squad will kick off their campaign this Saturday against JS Kabylie at Cairo International Stadium.

The coaching staff, under Jess Thorup, debated traveling on either the 25th or 26th but ultimately chose Tuesday morning. It will double as Ahly’s final training session before departure, maximizing preparation time in Egypt.

Security authorities have given preliminary approval for 30,000 fans to attend the home opener against JS Kabylie, a capacity in line with previous continental matches. The club had sought to increase that to 50,000, but will adhere to regulations.

Ahly recently welcomed back national team and youth internationals, strengthening squad depth after winning the Egyptian Super Cup against Zamalek. A medical check confirmed winger Ahmed Zizo’s readiness, while midfielder Imam Ashour returns after a long absence due to injury and illness, though his availability will be at the coach’s discretion.

Star player Mahmoud Trezeguet remains a doubt, continuing rehab from a muscle injury. The team’s preparations for the African group stage include intensive drills, squad selection, and tactical refinement, with the focus on a successful campaign.
