Galatasaray remain interested in Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma as Tottenham injury concerns continue
Galatasaray have maintained contact with Yves Bissouma’s camp in a bid to secure the Malian midfielder on a free transfer next summer, SunSport reports.
Bissouma, who has played a key role at Tottenham since his £25 million move in 2022, is eager to return to action for Spurs before his contract expires.
The 27-year-old has been sidelined by an ankle injury and is not expected back until early next year, complicating talks over his future.
Tottenham signed Bissouma on a four-year deal, and he was instrumental in their Europa League success, starting in the final in Bilbao last season.
Last summer, both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce expressed interest, with Spurs reportedly open to selling, but a knee issue prevented any deal from being completed.
SunSport had reported that Bissouma was keen to remain and fulfil his Tottenham contract. Sources now indicate Galatasaray are ready to offer a three-year deal if he chooses to move.
Several unnamed Premier League clubs have also contacted his representatives, aware he will become a free agent in the summer.
Despite external interest, Bissouma has prioritised regaining full fitness and returning to play for Tottenham before deciding on his next move.
Off-field issues have also affected his playing time. He was omitted from Tottenham’s Super League squad last season for disciplinary reasons, and similar matters disrupted his consistency under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Bissouma has also been dealing with a personal financial issue, reportedly losing over £800,000 in an alleged fraud from his VIP Coutts bank account between September 2022 and June 2024.
The former Brighton midfielder’s combination of talent, experience, and ongoing injury recovery makes him a high-profile figure in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Clubs across Europe will continue to monitor his situation closely, balancing the potential signing against fitness concerns and off-field complications.
