Oumar Bah starts new chapter with Persijap after spells in India and Spain

Guinean-Spanish centre-back Oumar Bah has joined Indonesian club Persijap, beginning a new chapter after leaving Kerala Blasters earlier in 2026.

The 31-year-old defender moved to Persijap on 15 August after a period without a club. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move, and no contract length has been announced.

Bah arrives with experience of Indian and Spanish football, having spent part of the 2025-26 season with Kerala Blasters. He made three appearances in the Indian Super League, playing 222 minutes, before departing the club on 4 March.

The 1.90m defender had joined Kerala Blasters on 30 January, following his most recent spell in Spain. His time in India was his latest move outside Spanish football, where he had played for several clubs across the lower divisions.

Before joining Kerala, Bah represented Vilassar de Mar, FE Grama, CE L’Hospitalet, Granollers, Sant Andreu and CE Europa. He moved from FE Grama to Vilassar de Mar in August 2024, but left the club in February 2025 before later securing his switch to Kerala.

Bah is a right-footed centre-back and has also recorded three appearances in Spain’s Promotion to the Segunda Federacion competition. His playing history therefore includes football in both Spain and India before his move to Persijap.

The transfer gives Persijap a defender with experience in different domestic competitions and adds an internationally eligible player to the club’s squad in Indonesia’s Super League. Bah’s dual nationality means he represents both Guinea and Spain in terms of nationality.

Bah’s career has included moves between clubs in Spain, a short stay in India and now a new destination in Southeast Asia. His arrival at Persijap was completed on 15 August 2026.
