Dayot Upamecano seeks improved terms in Bayern Munich contract talks

Inter Milan is reportedly eyeing a summer move for Dayot Upamecano, Bayern Munich’s powerful French center-back.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Upamecano could leave the Bundesliga giants on a free transfer if no new deal is reached.

Negotiations between Bayern and the 27-year-old have been ongoing, but both sides have yet to agree on an extension.

Upamecano joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in summer 2021 and has since made a notable impact, featuring in 165 competitive matches with five goals and ten assists. His defensive skills and passing range have caught the attention of several European clubs, with sources confirming interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, creating stiff competition for his signature.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Inter hopes to strengthen their back line by securing Upamecano. “Inter sees Upamecano as a key addition if a deal can be struck,” according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

The coming months will reveal whether the Frenchman will make Serie A his new home and take on a fresh challenge in Italy.
