French-Guinean midfielder Paul Pogba could make Monaco squad for Paris FC clash

Paul Pogba could make AS Monaco’s matchday squad for the first time when the club faces Paris FC on Saturday, November 1.

The 32-year-old midfielder has returned to full training and is edging closer to his first competitive appearance in two years following the completion of his doping suspension.

Born in France to Guinean parents, Pogba has long been a symbol of dual heritage and international prestige in football.

His potential return is being closely watched by fans eager to see him reignite his career in Ligue 1 after a turbulent period marked by injury and disciplinary setbacks.

Monaco coach Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed the possibility of Pogba’s inclusion during a media briefing this week, noting his encouraging progress in training.

“Paul is closer to a return than Denis, even if his absence was much longer,” Pocognoli said, referencing Denis Zakaria’s ongoing recovery.

Pogba sustained a minor strain earlier this month but has responded positively to rehabilitation, allowing him to resume full sessions with the first team.

Pocognoli added that the coaching staff will continue to assess the midfielder’s condition daily before making a final decision on his availability for the weekend fixture.

“For the moment, things are going well. I expect it to be short term before I can see him back in the squad,” the coach noted.

“When he returns, we will have to put a process together to judge him on the player he is now.”

The manager also hinted at a gradual reintegration process, acknowledging that Pogba’s form will take time to build after such a long absence.

Should he feature against Paris FC, it would mark an important milestone in his journey back to top-flight football and a fresh chapter in his decorated career.
