Vinicius Jnr’s relationship with new coach Xabi Alonso has reached a breaking point at Real Madrid.

The drama unfolded most publicly during El Clasico, when Vinicius was taken off in the 72nd minute and couldn’t hide his frustration, shouting, “Me? Me? Coach, coach! Me?” He reportedly told Alonso to “go for a walk” in Portuguese as he stormed to the sideline.

But this wasn’t just an emotional outburst. According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Vinicius’ dissatisfaction with Alonso has simmered since the coach’s arrival in May. “He feels the coach has no love for him or his style,” one report claimed, adding that a private meeting on September 22 ended with a threat: “If my situation doesn’t change, I’ll leave Real Madrid in January.”

Frustration was already building after benchings against Marseille and Oviedo. Though Alonso offered reassurance, it was, as one observer put it, “nothing but paper over cracks.” Vinicius has started just 10 of 13 matches and has played the full 90 minutes in only three, with Real Madrid’s management siding with their new coach while closely monitoring the situation as Vinicius approaches the final year of his contract
