‘AC Milan will have to kick me out to make me leave’ - English-Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori declares

Fikayo Tomori has declared his unwavering loyalty to AC Milan, saying the club would have to ‘kick him out’ if they ever wanted him to leave.

The centre-back, a key figure in Milan’s defence, made the statement while addressing speculation about his future ahead of the January transfer window.

Tomori, of Nigerian descent, has long been one of Milan’s most consistent performers since joining from Chelsea in 2021.

His leadership and composure have made him indispensable in Massimiliano Allegri’s evolving system.

Speaking to SportMediaset, Tomori said he feels completely at home at San Siro and has not considered a move or a contract renewal.

“Milan is a great club and until the directors tell me, ‘That’s enough,’ I will stay here — this is my home,” he said.

“I honestly haven’t thought much about the renewal because I want to focus on the next match, as the coach asks.

“When they want to talk about the contract, then I will think about it.”

Despite Tomori’s strong commitment, Milan’s management is reportedly preparing to reinforce the defence in January.

Italian media suggest the club want additional depth, especially with Allegri favouring a three-man back line.

Behind Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic, and De Winter, the only available backup is 19-year-old David Odogu, leaving the squad thin in case of injuries or suspensions.

Milan’s current position at the top of Serie A after seven rounds has not altered their cautious approach.

Allegri has maintained that the team must focus on daily improvement rather than league standings, warning that the real title race will only take shape in the spring.

Tuttosport reports that Milan’s transfer team has already begun outlining options, with priority given to an experienced central defender capable of slotting in immediately.

Talks are expected to intensify during the next international break.
