Ghana’s Brandon Thomas-Asante credits Coventry City teammates for rich scoring form
Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante has dedicated his purple patch of scoring form to his Coventry City teammates.
The Black Stars attacker has been in a rich vein of form for the Championship club this season, scoring eight goals and delivering three assists in 11 appearances.
In the last three matches, the former West Bromwich Albion star has racked up five goals for Coventry City, with his latest strikes coming against Portsmouth.
Thomas-Asante played full throttle of the match, as Coventry City inflicted a 2-1 away win over Portsmouth in the week 11 clash of the Championship. He scored in each half of the match to secure all three points for the visitors at the Fratton Park.
“It’s not just about me, the boys are making it very easy for me and I am so grateful to have these teammates. I want to keep working because anything can happen tomorrow and you don’t have to rest on eight goals or anything. For me that’s gone and just want to keep going” he said after the game.
Thomas-Asante opened the floodgate for the visitors in the 30th minute after being set up by Ellis Simms before sealing victory in the 56th-minutes.
Portsmouth netted deep into stoppage time through Makenzie Kirk, bit it was not enough to prevent them from a defeat on home turf.
