Zamalek meeting falls short as star forward returns to training
Zamalek’s club atmosphere was tense today, as the extraordinary general assembly failed to reach the required quorum needed to approve changes to the club’s bylaws.
Of the needed 4,000 members, only 898 attended, well short of the legal threshold. Still, club president Hussein Labib and the board toured the voting area, greeting participants and listening to members’ suggestions in a show of openness and readiness for future reform.
Legal supervisor Montaser Abdel Aal confirmed that the vote could not be considered valid due to insufficient numbers. The assembly had planned to discuss critical amendments aligning with new sports legislation, but the low turnout put proceedings on hold.
On the football front, Zamalek received a boost: star forward Oday Dabbagh has returned to full training after recovering from injury. His presence will be key as Zamalek prepares for their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Somalia’s Dekedaha FC. Teammates Abdullah El-Said and Nabil Emad Donga also rejoined practice after a rest, while others on the squad continue their rehab programs.
Zamalek, twice CAF Confederation Cup champions, is determined to restore their continental glory and keep fans inspired.
