PSG eye record offer to sign Lamine Yamal
French giants PSG are reportedly interested in signing Spanish forward of Moroccan descent, Lamine Yamal.
According to Goal and journalist Romain Molina, the French giants have been closely monitoring the 18-year-old winger and have already held informal talks regarding a potential move.
PSG is said to be determined to secure Yamal’s signature on a long-term deal, even if it requires an astronomical fee that would eclipse the current world record.
Yamal, who is under contract with Barcelona until 2031, has a release clause set at $1 billion. However, reports suggest PSG believe that an offer in the region of $277 million could be enough to tempt the Catalan club into negotiations.
The Parisians, who stunned the football world in 2017 by signing Neymar from Barcelona for $257 million, appear ready to make history once again with what would become the most expensive transfer ever.
Widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football, Yamal has already established himself as a key player under Hansi Flick since last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in just five appearances.
