Manchester City host Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, in the second matchday of the Champions League league phase, with a home win priced at 2.24.
Both sides won their opening matches, Manchester City beating Porto 2-0 away and Paris Saint-Germain defeating Slovan Bratislava 6-1. The fixture is also a repeat of last season’s spectacular meeting, when PSG won 4-2 at the Parc des Princes on their way to a first Champions League title.
Manchester City’s season has included only one defeat, a 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield. They have since beaten Bournemouth 2-1, Crystal Palace 4-1, Manchester United 1-0, Coventry 1-0 and Sunderland 5-3 in the Premier League, before recording an impressive 3-0 victory at Liverpool last weekend.
Their progress continues while the club awaits the outcome of an appeal concerning 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. On the pitch, however, City have won every other match this season.
Paris Saint-Germain have had a less consistent start domestically. After losing 2-1 to Monaco, they drew 2-2 with Lille and 2-2 with Rennes before their emphatic European victory. Luis Enrique’s side then beat Brest 1-0, Olympique de Marseille 2-1 and Le Mans 3-1.
PSG are sixth in Ligue 1, three points behind the leaders, and will need greater consistency against a Manchester City side who have regained momentum.
City are expected to have a full squad available. O’Reilly and Semenyo, who has two goals and three assists in the Premier League, recovered in time to feature against Liverpool. Fernandez and Anderson should continue in midfield, while Cherki and Erling Haaland both scored against Liverpool. Cherki has four league goals and two assists, with Haaland on six goals.
Jeremy Doku, who made an excellent substitute appearance at Anfield and has one league goal, is competing with new signing Ndiaye for an attacking role. Former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to start.
PSG will be without substitute goalkeeper Longoni and midfielder Mayulu because of injury. Ousmane Dembele, the reigning Ballon d’Or holder, and Nuno Mendes return after being rested against Le Mans, while Achraf Hakimi regained fitness by playing for his national team during the international break.
Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick against Slovan Bratislava and has four Ligue 1 goals, although he may begin on the bench. Desire Doue, Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are expected to form the attack, with Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz in midfield. Marquinhos and Willian Pacho should start in central defence.
The recommended bets include Haaland to score at 1.90, both teams to score at 1.37, more than 2.5 goals at 1.39, and over 8.5 corners at 1.52. A 2-1 Manchester City victory is priced at 15, while more than 2.5 goals is also listed at 2.50 and at least one first-half goal at 1.21.
The prediction is for City to win 2-1, with Haaland backed to score. The odds can change.
