Walid Regragui announces Morocco squad for Bahrain friendly and World Cup qualifier against Congo
Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has unveiled his squad for the upcoming international window, which includes a friendly against Bahrain and a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Congo.
The announcement was made on Thursday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat.
Regragui’s selection, however, has been hit by a string of injury setbacks, ruling out several key players. Among those absent are Sofiane Rahimi, Noussair Mazraoui, captain Romain Saïss, Achraf Dari, Azzedine Ounahi, Oussama El Azzouzi, Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal and Abdelhaq Aissal.

The Atlas Lions will open their campaign with a warm-up clash against Bahrain on October 9, before turning their focus to Congo on October 14 in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Both fixtures are scheduled to be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
