Walid Salah El-Din defends Al Ahly’s determination after Zamalek victory
Al Ahly football director Walid Salah El-Din stood firmly after the heated Cairo derby, sending strong words to fans and critics.
Following the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League, he delivered messages that underlined the club’s resilience and ambitions.
In televised statements, he said Al Ahly is the best team in Africa and called for calm, highlighting interim coach Emad El Nahhas’ work in restoring winning form. He urged supporters not to believe false rumors, clarifying that stories about Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo” speaking to him before the match were untrue. “All I ask of the fans is to trust the team and not believe these rumors,” he added.
Walid confirmed that the team will prepare intensively for the upcoming clash with Ismailia Electricity, hoping to extend their momentum. He also acknowledged the ongoing search for a new technical director while waiting for injured players to return.
