Al Ittihad’s decision to sack Laurent Blanc is wrong – Former Egypt star Ahmed Hossam Mido
Former Egypt star Ahmed Hossam Mido has described Al Ittihad’s decision to part ways with Laurent Blanc as a wrong one.
The experienced France tactician was shown the exit door at Al Ittihad on Sunday morning following their defeat to Al Nassr in the fourth-round classic of the Roshn Saudi League on Friday.
Goals from Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Senegal star Sadio Mane was enough for Al Nassr to secure a crucial a victory in the top-flight.
However, the former Egypt attacker has taken to social to express his displeasure about the sacking of the France manager, viewing the decision as a hasty one.
“The decision to dismiss Blanc was wrong. I hope that the union and its fans do not pay the price!!”
“It’s true that Blanc made mistakes, but he had a great season last season. How did Al Ittihad make the decision to dismiss the coach after losing just one big match? Unfortunately, it was a hasty decision by the Al Ittihad management.”
It’s worth noting that the club had decided to appoint Hassan Khalifa as interim coach until a new foreign coach is hired. Several candidates are being considered to coach the team during the upcoming international break.
