‘I’m speechless; winning 2025 Ballon d’Or just incredible’ – Ousmane Dembele
French forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembele, was left speechless on Monday night, after being named the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner.
This year’s ceremony was held in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet and brought together some of the world’s best players.
At the climax of the ceremony, PSG superstar Ousmane Dembele emerged as the biggest winner, claiming the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
In a speech after receiving the award, Dembele described the recognition as just incredible.
“It’s incredible what just happened to me, I’m speechless. It was an incredible season with PSG. I’m a little nervous, as you can see: it’s not an easy task for me to speak here. And then to win this trophy and receive it from Ronaldinho is exceptional,” Ousmane Dembele said.
He continued, “I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished in my career. I want to thank PSG, who came to take me in 2023, the president, the team, the club, which is a wonderful family. I’d like to thank all the PSG staff, Luis Enrique, my father, and especially my teammates. This team has been wonderful.
“We’ve practically won everything, we’ve improved our level to win these collective awards, and this individual award therefore goes to all of us as a team. I also want to thank all my teams, like Barcelona, where I first realised my dreams. Even though the Ballon d’Or wasn’t a goal in my professional career, winning it is incredible.”
