Hany Ramzy backs Walid Salah El-Din to bring stability to Al Ahly
Hany Ramzy, one of Egypt’s respected football voices, has urged fans to show patience and unity as both the national team and Al-Ahly embark on important new chapters.
Speaking in radio comments on Wednesday, the former Pharaohs captain admitted that debates over player selections are nothing new but stressed that the coaching staff must be trusted to carry their responsibility.
“The coach is ultimately responsible for his choices in the event of any failure. There are names on the list with question marks, but the public must support the national team,” Ramzy said, highlighting both concern and the need for collective backing.
He admitted surprise at Marawan Attia’s call-up, questioning how the midfielder could join the squad without being fully fit. Yet Ramzy’s tone softened when the subject turned to Al-Ahly, where he warmly welcomed Walid Salah El-Din’s appointment as football director.
“Walid Salah El-Din is a great choice. Walid Salah El-Din will be the new Sayed Abdel Hafeez, and I hope he stays there for years to come,” Ramzy concluded with confidence.
