Belgian forward of Guinean descent, Malick Fofana, has reportedly decided to stay at Olympique Lyon for another season.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 20-year-old winger did not find a move that aligned with his ambitions and has therefore committed to another season with Lyon.
Fofana attracted attention from several Premier League sides, with Liverpool monitoring him earlier in the window as a potential option if Federico Chiesa had departed. Nottingham Forest even reached an agreement with Lyon over a transfer fee, but the player declined the move.
Chelsea and Olympique de Marseille were also linked with him at different stages of the summer.
The young attacker reminded fans of his quality last weekend, scoring the opener in Lyon’s 3-0 win over newly promoted Metz.
Fofana enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2024/25, making 29 Ligue 1 appearances with five goals.
He will be key for Lyon throughout the 2025/26 football season.
