German outfit RB Leipzig are reportedly working to sign England midfielder of Nigerian descent, Carney Chukwuemeka.
This comes amid Dortmund’s reluctance to sign the midfielder from Chelsea on a permanent deal this summer.
As reported by Africasoccer in the last few hours, Dortmund is only open to negotiating a loan deal with an option to buy.
Chukwuemeka, who has also been linked to RB Leipzig per Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, is believed to be keen on remaining in Dortmund for at least another season.
He has reportedly expressed his interest directly to the club’s management. However, Chelsea appears unwilling to accept another temporary arrangement at this stage.
This is what is causing the delay in the player’s proposed move to Dortmund this summer.
Aware of the situation, RB Leipzig are said to be planning to swoop in to secure the services of Carney Chukwuemeka.
The club believes the youngster has the quality that will bolster their squad for the upcoming football season.
