Moroccan club AS FAR has firmly denied claims that Qatari side Al-Wakrah violated the $2 million penalty clause in Amin Zahzouh’s contract.
According to a club source speaking to Kooora, “There has been no breach of the release clause. Negotiations are ongoing regarding the sale of the player’s contract. AS FAR made the highest financial offer in the club’s history to Zahzouh, but he chose to decline it.”
The source added, “The Royal Army respects Zahzouh’s decision and remains committed to honoring players’ wishes, refusing to force anyone to stay against their will.”
AS FAR remains open to proposals from both Al-Wakrah and the player, maintaining a firm stance on the release price—equal to the offer Zahzouh rejected last season from a European club.
The club emphasized that once a mutually satisfactory agreement is reached, it will support Zahzouh’s transfer, provided the process respects AS FAR’s reputation and the value of its players.
