Al Ahly midfielder Marwan Attia is undergoing new medical tests in preparation for hernia surgery in the coming days.
This has been confirmed by the club’s first team doctor, Dr. Ahmed Gaballah.
In an official statement on Al Ahly’s website, Dr. Gaballah explained that the player has been suffering from some pain for some time, and the surgery was postponed more than once due to the team’s need for his efforts.
Besides Marwan Attia, the team doctor further provided updates on other injured players.
He added that Yasser Ibrahim, the team’s defender, is close to recovering after suffering a strain in his adductor muscle during the Club World Cup, which prevented him from participating in the recent match against Porto.
He pointed out that Taher Mohamed Taher, the team’s player, underwent medical tests after returning from the United States of America after suffering a second-degree strain in the origin of the anterior muscle, and is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
He added that Emam Ashour, the team’s midfielder, has greatly improved his condition after the collarbone surgery he underwent in the United States, following the injury he sustained in the opening match of the Club World Cup.
The player underwent a medical examination within the past 48 hours, and it was decided that he would begin physical therapy within a week at most
