Chidera Ejuke’s holiday activities have sparked serious concern at Sevilla FC, with the club growing increasingly frustrated over what they see as the Nigerian winger’s disregard for medical and contractual protocols.

Footage has emerged on social media showing Ejuke participating in informal matches on makeshift clay pitches during his vacation in Nigeria.

These unsanctioned games, which involve intense physical exertion on uneven terrain, are viewed by Sevilla as a potential risk to the player’s fitness and long-term availability—particularly troubling given his well-documented history of injuries.

According to Vamosmi Sevilla, the club is dismayed by Ejuke’s behaviour, which it considers unprofessional.

In one widely shared video, the 27-year-old is seen playing at full intensity while wearing a Valencia jersey—an image that initially prompted Sevilla to issue a warning.

More recent clips suggest that the winger has chosen to ignore those concerns, continuing to play despite the club’s instructions to rest and recover.

Ejuke’s conduct has become even more problematic given Sevilla’s internal context.

The Andalusian club is undergoing a significant restructuring, with Antonio Cordón recently taking over as sporting director following the departure of Víctor Orta.

The leadership change comes amid calls for greater discipline and a renewed focus on professionalism throughout the squad.

For a player who has yet to truly establish himself at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, this episode could prove costly.

Ejuke joined Sevilla last season and made 25 La Liga appearances, but started only nine matches.

His campaign was hampered by injuries and inconsistent form, leaving fans and club officials questioning his long-term role within the team.

With preseason preparations set to begin shortly, Ejuke’s disregard for club guidelines could place his future in jeopardy.

Sources close to the club suggest that patience is wearing thin, and a parting of ways cannot be ruled out if the player fails to fall in line with the new regime’s expectations.

Ejuke’s technical ability is not in doubt, but at a time when Sevilla is attempting to re-establish its identity and standards, his apparent indifference to the club’s directives may prove incompatible with its vision moving forward.
