Mohamed Salah has made it clear he has no plans to retire when his current Liverpool contract ends, assuring fans that he still has more to give beyond 2027.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward, who recently signed a contract extension with Liverpool until the summer of 2027, dismissed speculation that he could be nearing the end of his playing career.
Salah, who is widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest footballers, continues to be a key figure for both club and country.
Speaking to On Sports, the Liverpool talisman opened up about his long-term ambitions and his view on how much longer he can continue at the top level.
“I will stop playing when I have that feeling,” he said. “If you ask me for my opinion, I think I can play until the age of 39 or 40 but if I felt before that I wanted to stop, I would quit. I have achieved a lot of things.”
Salah also revealed that he came close to moving to Saudi Arabia before his contract renewal with Liverpool was finalised.
“My contract was up at Liverpool and I would have gone to Saudi but we finalised the deal with Liverpool,” he said, confirming long-standing rumours about a potential switch to the Saudi Pro League.
As for what the future holds, Salah remains open-minded but fully committed to Liverpool for the immediate term.
“I don’t know what is going to happen but I am happy here in Liverpool and I am staying here for the next two years. Then I will see what I will do next,” he added.
