Top 5 clubs with the most CAF Confederation Cup titles

Moroccan outfit RS Berkane made history on Sunday afternoon, winning their third CAF Confederation Cup title.

After winning the title, RS Berkane have joined Tunisian outfit CS Sfaxien in the exclusive list of clubs to have won three CAF Confederation Cup trophies

The Moroccan outfit secured their first Confederation Cup title in 2020 before clinching it for the second time in 2022.

Having reached the final of the continental tournament this year, RS Berkane faced off with Tanzanian outfit Simba SC.

RS Berkane went into the second leg of the final today leading 2-0 on aggregate thanks to a hard-fought win in the first leg.

In the reverse fixture played at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, Simba SC had a strong start to the game, determined to overturn the first leg defeat.

The efforts of the hosts paid off after just 17 minutes, thanks to a strike from Joshua Mutale after he was assisted by Elie Mpanzu.

Now just a goal away from restoring parity to the tie, Simba SC put RS Berkane under pressure in the quest for that second goal.

The team maintained the lead at halftime but suffered a setback just five minutes into the second half when midfielder Yusuph Kagoma was shown a second yellow card and sent off.

Even with 10 men, Simba SC managed to score a second goal through Stephen Mukwala. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed for offside.

Late in the game, Soumaila Sidibe scored for RS Berkane to force the game to end 1-1.

The result means RS Berkane are Champions of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup with a 3-1 aggregate win over Simba SC in the final.

RS Berkane now joins Tunisian side CS Sfaxien as the record winners of the Confederation Cup. The two teams have each won the competition three times.

Following the conclusion of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, here is the ranking of the top 5 clubs that have won the CAF Confederation Cup the most.

  • Sfaxien: 3 titles
  • RS Berkane: 3 titles.
  • Etoile Sportive du Sahel: two titles.
  • TP Mazembe: two titles.
  • Zamalek: two titles
