Christopher Nkunku looks set to call time on his Chelsea adventure after a difficult first season, and Bayern Munich are back in the mix for the French forward.
The 27-year-old has reportedly told Chelsea he’s open to leaving, with talks already underway with several clubs. Bayern, who made contact during the last winter window, are again monitoring the situation closely.
Nkunku joined Chelsea with high expectations but struggled with injuries and form. Despite his limited impact, his value is still estimated at around €50 million, making him an attractive option in the market.
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are currently ahead in negotiations. Newcastle United have also shown interest and could make a move if they sell striker Alexander Isak to fund a deal.
For Bayern to make an official offer, they will likely need to clear space on their wage bill by moving on some high earners. The Bundesliga giants remain keen on reinforcing their attacking options and may see this summer as the right time to strike.
