Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC have joined Kaizer Chiefs for the signature of Pyramids FC striker, Fiston Mayele.
Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has been pushing to sign Mayele, having previously worked with the in-form striker at the Tanzanian club Young Africans SC.
Mayele has been excelling for Pyramids FC, who are currently leading the Egyptian Premier League standings, while also shining in the CAF Champions League.
The soaring star has assisted his team in defeating Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals of the Champions League, setting up a historic final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, despite the strong interest from Chiefs, Ahly have reportedly joined the race for the in-demand goal-poacher.
It will be interesting to see if the Chiefs can ultimately secure Mayele’s signature, especially with Ahly now involved.
Meanwhile, Pyramids are said to be unwilling to part ways with him anytime soon.
