French outfit Lorient are keen to extend the loan deal of Franco-Ivorian forward Eli Junior Kroupi following an outstanding spell.
The 18-year-old is expected to end his current loan deal with the newly promoted Ligue 1 club on June 30, 2025.
Kroupi has been outstanding for Lorient since joining the club, scoring 20 goals in 28 appearances. The enterprising attacker joined Les Merlus in February and established himself as a key member of the team.
However, Lorient have set sights on securing the attacker for a further season as they seeks to make impact upon French Ligue 1 return.
In an interview, Lorient president Loïc Féry expressed desire to keep the attacker for a further season.
“There is a big interest in talking with Junior about the possibility of doing another season, if he wishes and if the club that bought him is also open to a loan,” said Féry.
The forward was bought by Bournemouth, who share the same owner as Les Merlus in the form of Bill Foley, back in January for a €13m fee. However, he was sent straight back on loan to the Breton club by the Premier League side. That loan expires at the end of the campaign but there is clearly a desire for Lorient to extend that further.
