Nasser Maher is on track for a return to Zamalek’s matchday squad, with the midfielder taking part in full training ahead of their clash with Al-Masry on Thursday.
Maher, who has been recovering from an ankle injury, completed a medical test on Tuesday, clearing a major hurdle in his comeback.
A source inside the club told Kooora that the player’s participation in the upcoming league match will depend on how he responds in training: “Nasser Maher underwent a medical test to determine the possibility of his participation against Al-Masry after his ankle injury.”
“Maher passed the medical test today and participated in group training, which increases his chances of missing the Al-Masry match,” the source added.
Maher recently shared a photo of his ankle injury on Instagram, drawing attention to his progress, as reported by Africasoccer.com.
Zamalek, sitting third with 38 points in the Premier League standings, will look to create more space between themselves and fourth-placed Al-Masry, who trail by just four points.
