Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise is drawing unwanted attention after being clocked at 72 km/h in a 30 km/h zone near a kindergarten close to the club’s training ground, Säbener Straße.
A recently installed digital speed display flagged several Bayern players, but Olise’s speed stood out as one of the most reckless.
The display, though not legally equipped to issue fines, has stirred public concern and media coverage. The spotlight has now turned to local authorities, who are taking the matter seriously.
Olise wasn’t alone. Teammates Leroy Sané and Raphaël Guerreiro were also recorded exceeding the limit, at 50 km/h and 55 km/h respectively.
Munich police spokesman Christian Poganski confirmed that while enforcement falls under the city’s traffic monitoring unit, they’re prepared to step in.
“If necessary, the Munich Police Headquarters will support the KVÜ in Säbener Straße with additional police speed measurements,” Poganski told Bild.
For now, no penalties will follow. But with rising public pressure and safety concerns, the presence of official enforcement near the training ground may soon become a reality.
