Determined and united, Al Ahly’s key trio have declared their firm resolve to keep hold of their CAF Champions League crown as they gear up for a high-stakes clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ahead of Saturday’s semi-final first leg in Pretoria, striker Wissam Abu Ali, defender Mohamed Hani, and goalkeeper Hamza Alaa all voiced strong belief in their squad’s mindset and preparation.
Abu Ali noted that the team is locked in and eager to secure a good result to ease pressure in the return leg. He highlighted the team’s drive to achieve a historic third consecutive title and a second personal win.
“We seek to achieve a historic achievement by winning the African title for the third time in a row, and the second time for me, in order to make the fans happy.”
Hani underlined the squad’s commitment to teamwork and discipline, pointing out the importance of staying sharp and giving extra effort in this crucial away game.
“All the players are motivated and ready to play tomorrow’s match, and everyone seeks to deliver a strong performance worthy of Al Ahly’s name.”
Alaa, meanwhile, acknowledged the challenge posed by Sundowns but emphasized that Al Ahly’s experience in tough matches could prove decisive.
“Al Ahly has won the title four times in the last five years, and we have a great chance to win the title for the third time in a row,” he added.
With four titles in five years, the reigning champions are chasing another golden chapter in their legacy.
