Nigeria Super Falcons winger, Francisca Ordega, is one of three African players nominated for the Best Player of March in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
Francisca Ordega, who plays for Al-Ittihad, was sensational in the month under review and is considered the favourite to pick the award.
The two others nominated for the award include Nigerian defender Ashley Plumptre (Al-Ittihad) and Congolese striker Naomi Kabakaba (Al-Ahli).
While none of the three nominees have previously won the award, Al-Ahli has seen success in earlier months, with Moroccan striker Ibtissam Jraidi claiming the accolade twice, in September and January.
In the Best Goalkeeper of the Month category, the nominees include American shot-stopper Lindsay Harris of Al-Qadisiyah, Ecuadorian goalkeeper Irene Tobar of Al-Amal, and French veteran Sarah Bouhaddi, who plays for Al-Ula.
Both the goalkeepers and their clubs are chasing their first win of the monthly award.
The winners of the awards are expected to be announced by the close of the week.
