Congolese youngster Ezechiel Banzuzi keen on developing at new club RB Leipzig
Dutch born midfielder of Congolese descent, Ezechiel Banzuzi, has shared his delight after sealing his transfer to German Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig.
The 20-year-old was unveiled by the German club on Tuesday, April 8, after agreeing a deal with Belgian Pro League side OH Leuven.
Speaking in his first interview with the media team of Leipzig, Ezechiel Banzuzi said he is hoping to take advantage of the opportunities at the new club to develop further.
“I’m very happy that my future lies in Leipzig. The club is known for its ability to develop young players at an extremely high level; there are plenty of examples of this. The management made a lot of efforts to get me involved and clearly showed me what they wanted,” Ezechiel Banzuzi said.
He added, “The Bundesliga is also a really strong league. I’m someone who puts my heart on the pitch and always gives 100% – I want to convince the fans of this as soon as possible. Until the summer, however, I will continue to focus fully on Leuven and our goals. I’m very grateful that I can take the next step after two good years.”
Ezechiel Banzuzi is the first signing of RB Leipzig for the 2025/26 football season.
