Ifeanyi Udeze urges Ola Aina to leave Nottingham Forest for Champions League football

Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has advised Ola Aina to consider leaving Nottingham Forest should a club competing in the UEFA Champions League express interest in signing him this summer.

Speaking on the matter, Udeze emphasized that a move to a Champions League team would provide Aina with greater opportunities to compete at the highest level of European football.

He believes remaining at Forest could limit the defender’s chances of playing consistently in elite continental competitions, which are crucial for his development and career trajectory.

“Aina is a talented player, and if a club playing in the Champions League comes for him, I think he should go. It’s an opportunity he shouldn’t turn down,” Udeze stated.

The former Super Eagles left-back highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Nottingham Forest’s ability to qualify for Europe in the future.

Even if Forest were to secure a Champions League spot, Udeze argues that the club’s long-term participation in the competition is not guaranteed.

At 27, Aina is approaching the prime years of his career, and Udeze believes that a move to a bigger club would allow him to test himself at the highest level while also increasing his visibility on the global stage.

The Nigerian full-back has been a key figure for Forest since joining on a free transfer from Torino, impressing with his versatility and defensive solidity.

As speculation over his future continues, Aina’s next decision could be pivotal in shaping the next phase of his career, especially if Champions League suitors come calling.
