Dayot Upamecano’s participation in Bayern Munich’s crucial Champions League clash against Slovan Bratislava remains uncertain, as the French defender continues to train individually this week.

Missing out on Bayern’s 2-1 victory over SC Freiburg due to minor muscular issues, Upamecano’s fitness has been a point of concern ahead of the pivotal January 29 fixture.

Bayern Munich sports director Christoph Freund clarified the situation, stating, “This is a pure precaution that he will get a break today,” reassuring fans that Upamecano’s absence was not due to a serious injury but a preventative measure.

Having featured in 16 Bundesliga games this season, scoring two goals, Upamecano’s presence in the defense has been pivotal for Bayern. The team will be keen on having him back for the Champions League encounter, with both clubs aiming for a critical result on Matchday 8 in the Allianz Arena.

As the countdown to the match continues, Bayern will be hoping their star defender is fit and ready to contribute in their pursuit of European glory.
