Captain of Canada’s national team, Alphonso will not sign for Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
The player who is of African descent is set to sign a contract extension deal with German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on Monday, January 27.
Sources have today reported that Bayern officials are currently in the process of finalising the new contract for the versatile defender.
It is understood that Alphonso Davies will sign a contract that will keep him in Germany until 2023.
Once the deal is signed on Monday, it will put an end to all transfer speculations linking the highly-rated defender to other clubs including Real Madrid.
It is unclear if the Los Blancos will end their interest in Davies’ services or if the club will lurk around and attempt to poach him next summer.
There should be some clarity once the new deal is signed and announced next week.
