Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi could be on his way out of Nottingham Forest as the club reportedly eyes a record-breaking move for Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.
Awoniyi’s future at the City Ground has come under fresh scrutiny, with Forest said to be preparing a £60 million bid for Cunha, who has been in fine form this season.
The Brazilian forward has netted 10 goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances, making him a prime target for Forest’s attacking reinforcement.
Sources suggest that if Forest successfully secures Cunha’s signature, the club may consider parting ways with Awoniyi. However, despite speculation surrounding his potential departure, there are currently no concrete offers for the Nigerian international.
It remains to be seen whether Awoniyi will stay and fight for his place or seek opportunities elsewhere as the January transfer window unfolds.
