Cameroonian defender Jerome Onguéné has popped up on the radar of French Ligue 2 outfit AC Ajaccio after departing Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 27-year-old is currently a free agent after parting ways with the German Bundesliga outfit and is expected to find himself a new club in the ongoing transfer window.
Following an unsuccessful spell, Frankfurt and the Cameroonian defender have decided to go their separate ways. He leaves the club without a single first-team appearance due to injury setbacks at the club.
According to reports, Ajaccio are considering signing Onguéné in the ongoing transfer window as they battle against relegation this season.
Aside Ajaccio, Onguéné is said to be on the wishlist of clubs in Austria and Belgium.
Since his last cap with Cameroon during the 2021 AFCON, Onguéné’s career trajectory has been on a downward spiral.
